bugs

There's mold in my shower drain
There's a hole in the ceiling
Lived in the tenderloin
Bitten by bedbugs, offended by crackheads
Mosquitos suck my blood
They have fingers and toes
And try to insert their proboscis into my wallet
So I hit 'em in the face and i make 'em go away
Open the window but there's
Orange juice all over the fire escape

Putrid, pungent, grimy, poison
I see nothing but legs
And I still stand with poise
How?

It could have been beautifully ugly if not for the smell
Or the pain they all caused me
I have every incentive to fend off these ants
Struggled my way to the top
Because when I had a breakdown amidst spiders
They showed me what I don't want
