Two Years

The first day you took a photo in front of Union station
I complained about the winter even though it was quite mild
I was so flustered to finally have you in my home
Bought you a plush toy and hugged you like a child

The second day we went walking, your face was blush and hands were cold
Hoped we'd take the same walk last September
You told me to send you a photo of where we stopped for a snack
Just how well we remember

And when I'm here
I was counting down the days

Don't tell me no, I can't forgo
I must fly tonight
Hold on back up, have two years
Really gone by
Shoot me up and let me go
I'm going out of my mind
I wanna fly so bad
I'm ready to die

We listened to 'The Stranger' and 'Songs in the Key of Life'
While I was running my hand through your hair
There on the bed with you in my arms I was born again
My life began there

But when I'm here
I'm counting down the days

Don't tell me no, I can't forgo
I must fly tonight
Hold on back up, have two years
Really gone by
Shoot me up and let me go
I'm going out of my mind
I wanna fly so bad
I'm ready to die
