The Shirk

I had thought to think
The ice has thawed and caused this thing
This thought that I had caught from a newspaper
I was taught to think like the others who saw the thing
How it came down still beckoning
With it's long finger to the pavement
The pavement.

It may cause a sink
Body and mind distorting
The younger ones are weeping
While their elders are leaving
No one's sleeping with the thought
That's caught them by their head
It's set inside, it's set so deep
No chance to hide or chance to be
Left to the side.

The most merciful thing left by
The shirk who'd known them
Was their carelessness to think upon
Or correlate their components.

Minds alike, akin to each other
Sharing thoughts, they are one brother
Shed family for another
And family is another matter
Bowing down on a dirty mattress
Look to a shirk god of the static
It seems to be so relaxing
But I fit in and I'm not acting.
