Routine

Wake up on Monday
Hoping that someday
I won't treat Tuesday as if it is doomsday
Maybe on Wednesday, I could pretend, say
That I've been happy for all of my friends sake
Waited on Thursday like it's my birthday
I'm good at hiding until it is Friday
Go out on Saturday, recover Sunday
Hopefully get myself together one day

I'm riding this wave but it never breaks
And if it does surely will test my faith
There's little of that in me anyway
I guess what I'm tryna say
Is that Father Time said "Oh son of mine
Your days pick up pace but you fall behind"
Smile at these strangers as if they were neighbors
They couldn't blame me for faking fine
Vices are nice 'till you pay the price
Better taking everyone's advise
Start playing it cool
Be somebody's fool
And pray they don't leave when the timing's right
A couple regrets, I'll admit to that
But give me your best and I'll give it back
I walk on these bricks until I am convinced
That time is static
Guess you won't get it back

Cause it's been over a year
And I've been stuck in the same loop
Diggin' the same roots with the same boots on
I've been compiling my fear
It keeps me in the same loop
Searching' for fake roots with the same boots on
And I don't know anything that wouldn't let me down
We're stuck in this routine
And I don't know anybody who won't let me down
We're stuck in this routine

Wake up on Monday
Hoping that someday
I won't treat Tuesday as if it is doomsday
Maybe on Wednesday, I could pretend, say
That I've been happy for all of my friends sake
Waited on Thursday like it's my birthday
I'm good at hiding until it is Friday
Go out on Saturday, recover Sunday
Hopefully get myself together one day

Wake up on Monday
Hoping that someday
I won't treat Tuesday as if it is doomsday
Maybe on Wednesday, I could pretend, say
That I've been happy for all of my friends sake
Waited on Thursday like it's my birthday
I'm good at hiding until it is Friday
Go out on Saturday, recover Sunday
Hopefully get myself together one day

We're stuck in this routine
We're stuck in this routine
