Have I Outgrown Minecraft?

Rolling out a map I get to work
I've always loved the smell of paper
Cartography is fun when we decide where everything resides
I hear a sound, i feel my chest puff up
Men, stand your ground, watch left, right, up, and down

Somewhere beyond that darkness someone is calling my name
Faintly I hear them say "dinner's done, turn off the game"

How many times must I write a sad song?
It's all been leading up to this day
A tune that I've been hearing all along
Creative gears, the bolts and screws of my brain
I've always felt it coming loose, turning grey
My skull will be a graveyard full of code
I'll feel it all erode

Somewhere beyond that darkness someone is calling my name
Faintly I hear them say "dinner's done turn off the game"
"Dinner's done, turn off the game"
"Dinner's done, turn off the-"

Have I outgrown Minecraft yet?
I don't really know
Every so often I go back
Build another home
Kicking up dirt, I mine a new path
I plant a seed or two
But I never stick around long enough to see it bloom (Oooo)

How many times must I die and restart?
It's all been leading up to this time
The real world's dim and I only live once
But getting to regen is getting old
I'm standing in the snow yet I'm not cold

Faintly I hear my name
"Dinner's done, turn off the game"
Bring me back to those days
"Dinner's done, turn off the game"
"Dinner's done, turn off the game"
"Dinner's done, turn off the-"

Have I outgrown Minecraft yet?
I don't really know
Every so often I go back
Build another home
Kicking up dirt, I mine a new path
I plant a tree or two
But I never stick around long enough to see how much it grew (Grew)
Does it matter how much I grew? (Grew)

The torches dim, I feel the dark cave in
I'm in the ground, it's over isn't it?
I feel so small
Two pixels tall and I
Won't make it home to eat that pie
With him
