Life Inner City

It was seven Bolton Street, Where my Friends & I would meet
Some would light up hand rolled cigarettes & the smell of Smoke would Reek
And on the Corner of Church Street, Was where the addicts tried to sleep
There'd be kids who'd use another route to school, Incase the needles cut their feet
And thats a normal observation, and we'd see that every day
We'd never judge one for their downfall, We'd just learn from their mistakes
Some were Wiser than those wealthy, Some would even change their ways
Some would pass before their twenties, Some would Leave & Move Away

Stand or Fall
When you'v nowhere left to go, and the only thing you know
Is Life Inner City
Stand Up Tall
There'll be times that life is hard, There'll be times you must let Pass
When you Live Inner City

In the Flats was where you'd feel, A real sense of Community
When one would fail, They would all set sail, & They'd bring you to your Feet
And your Mother took your side, Even after you had lied
Then a flame ignites, till you apologise, and your Mother's Satisfied
And if you heard our conversations, We wouldn't speak about our pride
We wouldn't talk of education, We were Streetwise Qualified
A generation soon to move on, with the new kids just behind
And the Soil that we were raised on, Will remain inside our minds

Stand or Fall
When you'v nowhere left to go, and the only thing you know
Is Life inner City
Stand up Tall
There'll be times that life is hard, There'll be times you must let Pass
When you Live Inner City

In time it shows, I miss there every day
But as life goes on, This city will never change

Stand or Fall, When you'v nowhere left to go
And the only thing you know is Life Inner City
Stand up Tall, There'll be times that life is hard
There'l be times you must let pass
When you Live Inner City
