All Is Vanity

Everything has a season
Yesterday I was seven
Next week I'll be gone
And life will go on
Everything has a season
A time to mourn
And a time to dance
A time for birth
And a time for death

Everyone lives and dies
The killer and the victim alike
The healthy and sick are blind
To their common demise
And all that's left behind
Are fading memories to die

My existence
Is nothing but a shadow
I'm here today
Then gone tomorrow
I count all as loss
For the sake of Christ
And surpassing worth
Of knowing my Savior

The rich and the poor
They all end up the same
Lying at the bottom of a grave
Wealth and riches
Are nothing but the wind
You think they're yours
Then you lose them in the end

In this life
There's nothing to treasure
All your wealth
Will go to another
So treasure God
And all his promises
Your riches aren't here
They lie in the heavens

At the end of your life
Remember God above
And his eternal love
When the light grows dim
That's all you've really got
Is a grace and love
You were never worthy of
