Lavender Mouth

Do not forget but don't hold on
The barbs removed, the poison's gone
Is there a better way to end

The question asked, the answer came
A soul exhumed from summer's grave
Take off your shroud, you've life left yet

Lavender mouth, tired eyes
Do you see it, do you realize
All of the wondrous things you are

My words were wounds with desperate breath
Your quiet sutures silenced them
A field dress, an open palm
Look in the mirror and see a face
And every part that you may hate
Looks just like poetry to me

Lavender mouth, tired eyes
Do you see it, do you realize
All of the wondrous things you are

Lavender mouth, tired eyes
Do you see it, do you realize
All of the wondrous things you are

Lavender mouth, tired eyes
Do you see it, do you realize
All of the wondrous things you are
