Mystery

I went out last night to let off a little steam
Trying to forget about this movie's final scene
I looked down in my glass
Amused by what I'd seen
In the end my friend you know that's alright with me
Long may it be a total mystery

Woke up the next day
Laid out in the sand
With trailer tears and dried up beer on the backs of both my hands
I cleaned up at the line
Looked out into the sea
And in the end my friend you know there's nowhere else for me
Long may it be a total mystery

You had to leave me yesterday?
I thought I knew you
Thought you'd stay
Now there's no one left to blame
But me

I don't see the point in life beyond today
Without a doubt I'm walking out to rest among the waves
I can see a light
A hand comes down to me
The empty stand it blows my plan
They've come to rescue me
Long may it be
Long may it be a total mystery
We're stuck in history
Who did this to me?
