Walkin' Blues

I went for a walk, it was getting pretty dark
But I had my favorite coat, to protect from sudden rain

As I headed out the door I felt I'd been there once or twice before
But well it's hard to see if you were you and me was me

So give me the time of your day and I'll just burn it all away
So you'll put me on a shelf, and I won't be home by twelve

It's a dangerous world to walk into
A small man said so it must be true
It's half the battle to find your feet
And the other half to put on shoes

Tryin to (tryna) toe the line has suited me and mine mighty fine
But Living on the edge ain't as edgy as it sounds

Sound the bell and draw the crowd everyone's talking so just talk loud
I'd love to hear just why you're right and so am I

Just feed me a bucket of lies, after all it's you I despise
So let's go on a limb, if you fall i'll just blame him

And I'm sad and I'm sorry but no one cares
The walk ain't helping and I'm unawares
That somethings coming soon to swallow the sun and eat the moon

And even my favorite coat
Is having a hard time keeping out the cold and the rain
Will it always be the same i guess the best that i can do is

Find a way to hide away its a cowards choice but its that or pay
Homage to a man that i dont know and i cant stand

My feet are sore and furthermore i keep on passing by my front door
I see my hands are tied, and anyways im just too tired
