A Little Odd

Don't you find it just a little odd,
that you put your faith in your parents god.
Don't you find it somewhat strange,
that your prayers are just a stream of one way exchange.
And isn't it peculiar,
that he doesn't intervene.
He could put up a fight and stand up for what's right.
Perhaps he doesn't want to cause a scene?

A thousand gods, maybe more,
but you tell me only yours is true.
You and I are more or less the same,
I just believe in one less than you.

Don't you find it just a little curious,
that a being so mighty and, glorious,
would want you down on your knees,
praying to the sky for forgiveness, please.
And isn't it a contradiction,
and omnipresent absentee.
See and hear no evil,
he's a moral refugee.

A thousand gods, maybe more,
but you tell me only yours is true.
You and I are more or less the same,
I just believe in one less than you.

The kindness of a stranger makes my heart want to sing,
but if it's born out of fear then it don't mean a thing.
The threat of hell shouldn't be what makes you do things right.
Let human nature be your guiding light.

A thousand gods, maybe more, (maybe more)
but you tell me only yours is true. (only yours is true)
You and I are more or less the same,
I just believe in one less (I believe in one less)
I just believe in one less (I believe in one less)
I just believe in one less, god than you.
