I've got sixteen alibi's
For every mistake I've made
As the fog rolls past these tired eyes

To the silence of the morning
Says "at least life isn't boring"
And then I, lay my head

But I've seen the hurt, by the morning light
When desire betrays trust
And I swear to god I'm finished with
The lust of a coupled friend
And these sixteen alibi's
On the floor beneath my bed

And she takes off in
To the stillness of the morning
Full of self-inflicted scorning
