Harbour Fire (Live)

Last night I dreamt of a fire
Burning down Barrington Street
The flames and the smoke billowed higher
Like chains 'round the angles feet
And I could smell the yeast burning
All the way up in the Hydrostone
The heat pushed me down to the harbour
And burned away all my clothes

And I went for a swim all the way out to Georges Island
I stood up on the shore and looked back at my city in flames
And I let out a tear so rusty it stuck to my eyelids
Fire is fast but it sure ain't no way to change

Just then I was back in my bed
A seagulls song opened my eyes
I jumped up and ran to the balcony
To be sure it was fog in the skies
No smoke and no flames and no carnage
Just buildings and bridges and boats
Made peace with my fears as the rain came
And burned through the fog to the floats

And I rode on the wind all the way out to Georges Island
I stood up on the dock and looked back at my city with Joy
I opened a beer and it tasted like Exile on North Street
Yeah there's work to be done but that ain't no need to destroy
And I went for a swim all the way out to Georges Island
I stood up on the shore and looked back at my city in flames
And I let out a tear so rusty it stuck to my eyelids
Fire is fast but it sure ain't no way to change
Yeah fire is fast but it sure ain't no way to change
