In Her Mind

Feeling sometimes she's been led astray,
No one left who she can trust.
Not sure what to do,
Not sure what to say,
She's got so much unresolved stuff.

Every now and then you see her smile,
There you can begin to see a child,
Who's been told that she's just not good enough.
All this time it's been like hell,
But she's just not giving up.
She makes friends easily,
Watch her lay her body down;
In the end she'll be fine,
If she realizes
It's only in her mind.

Needing so badly,
Never quite fulfilled.
She says she can't deal with the truth,
She says it's the shame her father instilled.
Watch her cry the tears,
She had to hide in her youth.
