Delusion Doors

Approaching departure
The traveler hesitates
This great leap into the void
Is quite frightening
Outside the foreseeable
Regions of his mind
He cannot find a way to resist
Once gone, nothing
Will stop his head from falling
"Never has it been about choice, though" he thinks
As he realizes that the journey
Had already begun."

"There, amidst vast plains
Stood once again another gate
The ancient floating structure
Greatly resembled those
He had passed through before
Every other crossing seemed
To have stripped away parts of himself
Wrecked by all these mirages
He couldn't endure yet another deception
He collapsed on the ground
Abandoning all hope

In a flash, the world as he knew it was gone
A feeling of warmth ripped his heart open
The wave of light tore apart every molecule of his being
Every distinction that had once separated
One from Another
No longer did he know boundaries
No longer was there a center
At last, he was complete
