Wag the Dog

Nobody ever questions
The search has been called off
By what seems like everyone
In a race to jump into a box

So we blame something invisible
While closing our eyes to what can be seen
The unfolding of the inevitable
Creates fear for some, but hope for me

So for the sake of fame or blame
Let's give it a name, like God
Who's probably sitting on his throne
playing with his phone, watching the tail
Wag the dog

It's hard to walk by
without saying a word
Choosing just to be blind
Sounds so absurd

So you walk along with all the rest
Why won't you see
The emptiness of togetherness
Inconsistency of mediocrity

So for the sake of fame or blame
Let's give it a name, like God
Who's probably just sitting on his throne
playing with his phone, watching the tail
Wag the dog

On time, every time, they wag the dog, just to keep us blind. No wonder they're afraid of What we will find
