Night Vision

My whole life I've had premonitions
Wrestling with inner demons while I tested limits
The definition of success, I may never fit it
Cause I don't use algorithms to get recognition
Forget Meta, this is metaphysics
Never been the type to follow trends or gimmicks
On another level with it
To get consistent it takes repetition
I've been resilient
Fought depression, learning lessons through the pessimism
Back when only Michael, Mark, Naz, and Devan listened
We'd get ambitious, set a mission
Then we'd get to business
Set traditions
Share ideas and developed wisdom
Find mechanisms to break rules and leverage systems
I'm reminiscing, this is right from my heart
My essence is luminescent, comes alive in the dark
Shine like a star
On point writing these bars
Y'all can't see me because we're light years apart
I'm trying to guard
My peace of mind from bias remarks
Designing my art with hindsight, highlighting scars
Refusing to sell out to start climbing the charts
So writing this memoir has been surprisingly hard
Smile and nod, only if you understand
No matter what the deal is, play your cards right to get the upper hand
Risk it all even though you might not get to run it back
Cause if you play it too safe you might not get another chance
My head is spinning and the devil wants another dance
My crown is tilted still recovering from summers past
No father figure had to struggle to become a man
I know I'm gifted I just wonder if it comes with tax

God had something planned it's remarkable
With great power now I gotta be responsible
Be an audible conduit for the marginal people, now we're unstoppable
Success isn't optional
Can't lie I'm fly, astronomical
My minds divine, that's canonical
Every particle of my existence is phenomenal
Overcoming these obstacles
Just to do the impossible
I'm on a roll like when dice hop
The long nights got my eyes shot
Red like a cyclops
Soul searchin' with these verses tyin' to find God
Looking out for all the danger in my blind spots
Shadows outline where the light's blocked
But also indicate the place where the lights on
I've got my sights locked
So I'm going to let bygones be bygones
If the vibes off
The high cost of ignorance now a days
Got me changing my childish ways
I ain't with the pounds and shakes
Making ties that are bound to break
Cause I'm aware that time flies and power fades
Made it through some dark times finally found my place
Trying to let my good deeds be a counter weight
Yeah I'm grounded but my sights set on outer space
Not leaving the gym until I get 1000 makes
Validate my theories with experiments
My experience hides treasure like the pyramids
We are not the same y'all Sierra Mist
I know where I fall on tier list
It's deeper than appearances
As a lyricist I use words to fill a void
And reach potential placed on me as a little boy
I'm anointed so I lift my voice
Can't be shy in not from Illinois
Shinning from my inner joy
This the biggest choice I'll ever have to make
Grind to earn the accolades or just grab the fame
Or call it quits and back away
To keep my family safe
It's unclear, my night vision needs to activate
