Under Water
Walking the sands of the oceans floor,
In slow motion my movements are weighted by the waters I tread,
Fish pass my head as I approach the reef,
Fans of coral sway immaculately,
As sunrays ripple crystal linings,
Then I pick up an abandoned abalone shell,
And in its colors I see my self reflecting,
Walking the sands of the oceans floor,
I jump up high and resistance is low,
Then my hands slowly rise as I fall,
There's what's in view then what fades to dark,
It keeps you guessing if what you see's a shark,
Fading into sight for a feed,
Then I wish I had a place to hide,
I see a field of seaweed and I take a dive and watch as the shark swims by,
And inside of all these plants before my eyes,
Were a million micro-organisms living all at once,
And it reminded me how small that I really am
