Denizens of Hell

Inhabitants of Earth
Wait patiently for death
Always so curious
About what waits for them
Avoiding sin
At every turn they're met with
Salvation or damnation
The choice not yours to make

They work their lives away
In preparation for eternity

These denizens of Hell
Wait eagerly for the dead
And they must punish them
Or face punishment of their own
Forced to obey
Under the threat of exile
They torture souls without a second thought
But not without remorse

They have no choice
They just do what they are told
Every man and child
Across every circle
They all must pay
For actions they could not control
They all will burn
With taste of acid in their throat

God will not save you here

Life is unfair
So many challenges await us
Before we have to die
Death is no escape
So many punishments await us
Before we succumb to life

Is there forgiveness for me, or am I now Hellbound?
Is my soul doomed forever? Has Hell become my home?
Father I am a sinner, but I don't want this pain
What can I do to ensure, my life was not lived in vain
I made my share of mistakes, I took things for granted
I said things I did not mean, but made no effort to redeem
I have no expectations for where I might end up
But father, if you'll listen
I don't wanna burn in Hell

My plea is not accepted, as I am pulled below
Into the bright inferno, no body just a soul
I pass through all the circles, until I find my own
Where heretics await me, inside their flaming tombs
It's too late for me to change, and I can not atone
My only crime was thinking, beyond what I was told
Into the city of Dis, the furies greet me warm
I enter the fortress and climb into my tomb

Life is unfair
So many challenges await us
Before we have to die
Death is no escape
So many punishments await us
Before we succumb to death

Life is unfair
So many challenges await us
Before we have to die
Death is no escape
So many punishments await us
Before we succumb to life
