Blackberries

I hit the road
Look for a place to go
My bike is moving, though the tyre's low
Still I'll keep keeping on

Just a few more weeks
To make use of these little treats
The birds are singing and it sounds so sweet
The leaves are dancing through the autumn breeze

I've been picking blackberries
All the way up and down the stream
My purple fingers such a sight to see
As the sun sets on this September eve

I've been picking blackberries
All the way up and down the stream
My purple fingers such a sight to see
As the sun sets on this September eve

Cause I'm free
Cause I'm free
Cause I'm free

I pass a woman sitting happily
As her man waits down on bended knee
And he's praying for a wife to be
I see my dog look up, swore he smiled at me

Just one more
For the road
Even though I've such a heavy load
That branch looks worth it's weight in gold

I pick a place
A grassy hill to rest my legs
Make sure none of them are put to waste
Better leave some for my friends to taste

I've been picking blackberries
All the way up and down the stream
My purple fingers such a sight to see
As the sun sets on this September eve

I've been picking blackberries
All the way up and down the stream
My purple fingers such a sight to see
As the sun sets on this September eve

Cause I'm free
Cause I'm free
Cause I'm free
