Blind Faith

Bad trips down memory lane
Chest pains when I saw what remained (Not a thing)
Shattered windows and glass and concrete is all that stayed
They took the rest when collections weren't paid

(It's like I) Saw a ghost by the look on my face
I double take
It's just wind that made the curtain sway
He tried to make it home but got to third base
In the dead of night on the corner by the streetlight in the rain

He lost a leg while he was dancing with the train
I knew I knew him but I didn't know his name
Then I recognize the face
Reaching out his hand you'd turn away
I help him up so he could hop it off again

Aroma in the air could take you back to certain days
I know I've been here I just didn't know the place
Napalm burnt the house but left the slab unphased
Rotten Bodies at the bottom of the lake

The fog sets in, the levee breaks
Broken locks hang from the raid
I walk the halls and heard voices down in the basement
Not a picture left in the frame
There was nothing left there to save
Except the thing that was left right where I placed it

Bad dreams linger on I can't erase it
Nostalgia bitter on the tongue every other time you taste it
Blind faith had you Exit the congregation (Amen)
It's all I'm saying
