It Finds Me on a Sunday Night

It finds me on a Sunday night
When I am alone in my bed
Lost in the thoughts in my head

A sudden sense of time gone by
Fills all the space in this room
Painting the walls in a gloom

It's screaming through this cold and quiet night
Like thunder through my sleep
Asking me why I am here tonight
So far from all my dreams
The place that I've been moving towards
And everything im searching for
Has fallen out of reach and it seems
That all the time from now until I go
Could never be enough

Roll out of bed, turn on the lights
Knowing that doubts love the dark
But the feeling is never that far

I try to play the thoughts away
When that fails I turn to my phone
But the feeling continues to grow

It's screaming through this cold and quiet night
Like thunder through my sleep
Asking me why I am here tonight
So far from all my dreams
The place that I've been moving towards
And everything i'm searching for
Has fallen out of reach and it seems
That all the time from now until I go
Could never be enough

Maybe it's just a trick of the night
A feeling that will fade with the morning's light
Or maybe I was a fool to believe
That I could ever reach these dreams
I guess we'll have to wait and see
