Guardian Angel Ring
A maiden came upon a fortune teller
Whose prophecies were served with a sting
The maiden handed over her last dollar
And she was given a guardian angel ring
The red stone will warn of grave danger
The blue stone will celebrate true love
Each stone in the ring will fall out
To impart divine knowledge from above
Her woes sent her scrounging up pennies
There were times in which she did reckless things
She looked down at her hand before each venture
To find both stones in the guardian angel ring
The maiden met a man outside a barroom
His rowdiness paired well with his gentle eyes
It wasn't long before they planned their wedding
He proposed after having her sip his potent wine
Come summertime, they were married at the altar
They said their vows as the choir began to sing
Slipped on their wedding bands and head to the shore
The new bride buried her guardian angel ring
A year passed and a raven flew to the coast
He dropped a rusted ring by the shore line
Sand piled into the lonesome caverns
Where two omniscient stones used to reside
This ring ain't gold, this ring ain't silver
But it will save your life if you yield to the superstition
This ring ain't worth a dime at the pawn shop
But when it speaks, you know you better listen
