Strange Child

Still moment in the sunlight
Barren land and spots of dune
A haunting, picturesque horizon
Pristine hills all stacked in tune

And in that moment did she see
A gust of wind in all its fury
A figure floating 'cross the desert
A regal witch enters the scene

'Cause she's a strange child
You don't know half of what she's seen
She's a strange child
Her mind a vivid, magic scene

The witch so fair, so calm, so regal
Her eyes start searching near and far
Her gaze as sharp as the eagle
Her blood wine lips begin to part

And then the elk emerge upon us
And graze upon the grass of green
The witch holds up her arm toward them
And to herself begins to beam

The child she looks on still unblinking
As the witch shoots out a beam
And with the witch's icy smile
The elk is dead, and ends this scene

'Cause she's a strange child
Fantastical things on her mind
She's a strange child
Her dreams more vivid than her life

'Cause she's a strange child
You don't know half of what she's seen, no
She's a strange child
Her mind a vivid magic scene
