Hear My Voice

When I was eight years old
I didn't understand
A lot about life
Or the struggles of a man
We didn't have much
But daddy always knew
After working two jobs
It was all he could do
Late one Winter night
I saw a cross in my daddy's hands
As he fell down to his knees
And prayed to God once again
I still hear the words
Prayed by my old man

He said, God I don't have much
Can you help me please
I'm down to my last dollar
You've got me on my knees
Help me see the light
Is this my reality
Can you hear my voice
Is this your path for me
Can you hear my voice
Is this your path for me

Everyone says the apple
Falls next to the tree and
I remember my dad
Now take a look at me
Working two jobs
Trying to survive and
I can't get ahead no matter
How hard I try and
I don't know much
I know the struggles of a man
As I fall down to my knees
With his cross between my hands
Now I pray the words
The words of my old man

He said, God I don't have much
Can you help me please
I'm down to my last dollar
You've got me on my knees
Help me see the light
Is this my reality
Can you hear my voice
Is this your path for me
Can you hear my voice
Is this your path for me
