Old Bones

You could be drenched in a shadow of an overcasting figure
That stands stretching toward the nothing of an overwhelming one
Instead you're knees toward the ceiling of an old bed and breakfast
Bones turning sour getting no motion done
When forced to be docile every motive now is futile
Gaze into paintings that are hanging on the wall
Drift into feeling like it's harmful doing nothing
Could be far off just running down the middle of the road

Must work the mind and free the soul
Strum the heartstrings, feel your body let go
When forced to stay just keep it calm
There's more to living than moving these old bones

Maybe all those little demons telling you to do the bad thing
Are just frightened versions of the fear you've creeping from within
What if you could sprinkle just an ounce of optimistic sense
Transforming every toxic wasted space inside your head

Must work the mind and play the soul
Strum the heartstrings, feel your body let go
When forced to stay just keep it calm
There's more to living than moving these old bones

These old bones
Gets harder and harder every year to keep the mind clean

Must work the mind and free the soul
Strum the heartstrings, feel your body let go
When forced to stay just keep it calm
There's more to living than moving these old bones
It's so forgiving when living in your own
