Bubbles and Rain

Sammy the snail sat on a leaf
Lucy the clam chilled on a reef
Meant for him and he for she
Separated by miles of land and sea

Sammy could tell that something was missing
Lucy was tired of swimming and digging
She didn't see an ocean worth fishing
He felt his shell cold and unfitting

Sammy just waited for rain to drop
While Lucy watched bubbles rise to the top
Together they dreamt and never they stopped
Bound by love in feeling and thought

But fate would have a silly scheme
In Sammy lay dormant the bipolar gene
In a flurry of colors a dazzling scene
Sammy the snail went into his dream

Across the years and miles apart
He flew as a blasting rainbow dart
All the way down and before she could start
He gave her a kiss and opened her heart
