Heavy Foggy Night

The rumors had been steady for a couple days
S.U.V.'s are in the area, they're already on their way
They smashed the chain from around the front gate and post
But, they found a house out back and three more down the hill
Everything was looking good, there was more to grow still
But they found no one, because they bailed out to the coast

Well, it might take some days, or it might only take a glimpse
Before you see all the choices, and one of them makes some sense

Later on a call from the neighbor up the way
He said wherever you are, you might as well stay
Your season's work was chopped and chipped this afternoon
But the money that's been spent, the money that be lost
Doesn't help the next decision, or the extra cost
