I Made It Through
Welcome to my testimony
It started when I was just a child, so very young and in beguiled
So many smiles at me were worn and phony
Cause they were just out to cause me harm but hid behind normalcy and charm
First came the robbing of my innocence
Then came the constant waves of motions that would block the sun
I had to grow up fast while hide my feelings
It took every fiber that I had, to rise above times that were so sad
Now see...
I made it through the cries
I made it through the whys
I made it through the lies
Take a look at me
I made it through the fire
I made it through the wire
I made it through the dire
I heard some say that I'd be nothing
Now what made them think that I would fall before I had a chance to crawl?
The ridicule and shame was so bad
The wicked kept piling trials on me, while I was just minding being free
But they didn't see my might and resilience
They couldn't see the light I had gained from the rain and pain
Now I stand so strong from years of true healing
Defying such otherworldly odds, cause breaking was nowhere in the cards
And now I am shinning to the Gods
Baby!
I made it through the cries
I made it through the whys
I made it through the lies
Just take a look at me!
I made it through the fire
I made it through the wire
I made it through the dire
Just take a look at me!
I made it through the cries
I made it through the whys
I made it through the lies
Now what about you?
I see what you're going through
You too can make it through, but you've got to believe in you
