Not All
Sometimes we need a reality check in life
To help us see things from a different perspective
A different lens
Because sometimes life is just hard
I hope this poem helps you on that journey
Not all wishes come true
Not all treasure is silver and gold
Not all truth will be told
Not all truth will be bold
Some will be sold
Some will be old
But nevertheless, not all truth will be cold
Not all glitter is gold
Not all people are bold
Not all people change
Some prefer to be strange
Not all wounds are visible
Not all lies are dismissible
Not all moves are permissible
Yes, not all guys are kissable
You see not all birds fly
Not all girls are shy
Not all friends, say hi
And not all enemies, say die
Not all are meant to stay
Not all life is left to fate
Not all failure is a mistake
Not all mistakes, amount to disgrace
Not all choices are bought
But all choices come at a cost
Not all Christians believe in the cross
Outside of Star Wars, people believe in the force
People believe in the force
To comprehend effects, study the cause
To understand, one must pause
Not all who wander are lost
Not all lost, is a loss
Not all days are equal
Not all humans are people
Not all movies have sequels
Maybe all stories have prequels
Not all deals are fair
Not all treasure is rare
Not all storms bring despair
Some come, to make the path clear
Not all guys are players
Not all girls are slayers
Not all looking are seekers
Not all opportunists are reapers
Not all men are sorry
Not all girls are stories
Not all stories are in books
Not all who steal are crooks
Not all anger is bad
Some smart people, are mad
Some happy people, are sad
Some mothers, are dads
Not all black people are criminals
Not all police, are cynical
Not all white people are racist
Not all crime turns into cases
Not all classrooms have four walls
Not all men, have balls
Not all beds, have pillows
Not all tea is milo
Not all guys want sex
Some want, what is best
But not all girls can see
Mr. Right when he is kneeling at their feet
Not all questions are answered
Not all serving are backward
Not all fights will stop
Not all truth, is bought
Not all, are created equal
Yet it doesn't mean, we are not the same
We all however, have the power
To make the world a better place, each day
To help us see things from a different perspective
A different lens
Because sometimes life is just hard
I hope this poem helps you on that journey
Not all wishes come true
