Balcony

As I stood there face to face with your frontdoor
I pressed my nose on to the bell just to make sure
That you'd be terrified but yet surprised of me
Because I shouted BOO and smoked a drinking straw

I waved a bottle in my hand filled up with gold
Plunged a straw in your chest, my hands were not that cold
Please shine from the inside on me
I sang and poured the sparkling liquid in your soul

And when we finally stood there on your balcony
You talked about us melting in the summer heat
And the wisteria around your balcony
Could spread its leaves and hold us for a century

When you say we
You mean you and me
When you say we
You mean you and me
And I hear us

I took a deep breath and I swallowed all my fear
Tried to tell, but you served us liquor and a beer
You were not that surprised but terrified of me
When I confessed, I always want to keep you near.

I waved my hand just to say hi, I risked it all
You raised your arm and held a racket and a ball
Please shine from the inside on me
You ran around the table, didn't hear my call

And when we finally stood there on your balcony
You talked about us melting in the summer heat
And the wisteria around your balcony
Could spread its leaves and hold us for a century

As I stand there face to face with my backdoor
Plunge a straw in my chest, my hands are fucking cold
I'm neither terrified nor that surprised of me
Breathe in and out, salute the sun, stand my withdrawal

When you say we
You mean you and me
When you say we
You mean you and me
I still hear us
