Ode to No One

I took my time riding down the street staring off into the
Scenery that accompanied me on my journey there
Where we once were, and I spent an hour thinking
Of the time when you said that this life is the best you've ever lived
Yet now you left me with no choice but to forget you
Anyways the world's spinning madly and I'm living just barley
And I don't mean to intrigue or to leave you feeling confused
I rarely ever feel this way and I'd be lying if I said I never do
Well, you should know for the all the bad that has ever been done between us
Has been covered up with the good things that we both did hm yes
And I really believe we were destined to meet just not meant to be
And I hope you could agree you left here too early yeah you been gone
For so long and I'm playing along I'm just saying there's nothing wrong
And I wrote you this song for only your ears to listen to
But you didn't come and so I changed the definition into a poem
And something happened to me, and I don't know where it came from
And now in my head is this ode to no one

A hundred days down the line and I'm better again hm yes
I let it happen it was for the best now it's just different
And I intend to rove through my time here eventually I'll disappear
Throw away my body and carry on with my soul
They told me I'm better off leaving you alone
And I know I would be there if things would have worked out your way
Well, I'm far away today preparing for another dying night
And I wish I could care enough to be trying more than I am
But I can't seem to grasp the same concepts that you have
So I'll laugh, and joke, and speak, take notes, on paper trails
Written from the hands of wise men and recited by all the storytellers
And I'll do what I can for however long forever is defined to me
Patiently awaiting on the next one avoiding what sets out to distract us
Put my faith in the sun lay my beaten head for a moment in the arms of the axis
Let the words from my hand go let them get spun into the abyss
Watch them turn into this ode to no one
