Pretense

In a ditch of darkness
I awoke
Nothing to be seen,
Just a word she spoke
Oh, "Love", she purred
As cute as a kitten
And just like that,
I was truly smitten
Beckoning me forwards,
I blindly walked
Ignoring my fears at which I balked
Faster towards her, my heart be still
All of my desires she promised to fulfill

Down her shoulders, streamed
And olive brown eyes with longing gleamed
Arms outstretched
As if with pure intention
To take away my fear with her pretension
