Cologne

Years old polaroid still in my pouch.
I don't take photos anymore.
Watching Gilmore Girls alone now.
It's not like how it was before.

Not used to sleeping on my own.
Nobody's dialling my phone.
There's so much more, wish we had known
Before you left me with your cologne.

Playing your black acoustic guitar.
The one your mom had given you.
Feels so wrong that I still have it now.
Maybe broke a string or two.

So many chords you didn't know,
But you still played it in your room.
It's catching dust and scraping wood
Since you left me with your cologne.

Sneaking into fancy hotels.
Blowing smoke rings in the diner,
Taking pictures in the sheets as we were drunk.
Looking back upon the days.
Never thought that it would come to an end.

All my friends have moved away now.
Barely one or two are close.
They keep telling me to move on,
So I try to let you go.

So many clothes that you had loaned.
They no more fit upon my bones.
Now they're too small for I have grown,
But I still wear your old cologne.
Hmmm.
