My Brain's Travels

My brain's traveled to more places than one could in ages
It's seen it's highs, lows, the normal and the strangest
I've memorized so many faces from long ago to today
Yet there's only one that'll forever hibikase
(That's Japanese for resonate by the way)

Time can do more than fly
It can drive 1,000 miles per hour on I-95
When my Mom drives me to school and back on that highway
I wonder if we'll meet again one day
You filled that void in myself
Kept me level through all kinds of heavens and hells
Though I haven't talked to you in so long
I still remember you so well

Did we have to go to different middle schools?
Maybe we did
We had to go by our parents' rules

If I could go back, I'd send you my email and numbers
So we could go back and still communicate with each other
No one I know could replace you as a lover
Through all my endeavors
My mind goes back to you whenever it can
Replaying flashbacks
Though nothing will always last
Alas, I guess the past has passed

Maybe we'll meet again when we least expect it
Maybe I'll make choices I don't regret
Maybe I'll live in moments before they slip away
Like they never existed in the first place
But for now we have our own dreams to chase
Can't do nothing but manifest that I'll see you again
See you then
Yeah
Someday, someday, someday, babe

"There you are."
