Riding High

Riding high

I was down in a river, buried under the waves when a voice inside me shook me from my shallow grave, and it said

"Riding high is a better way to die, just hanging on to the edge of the sky."

I travelled up to the mountains, looked down at the sea. I had to find my muddled mind some clarity
But I was too high, I could not come down. I was too tied to make a sound
I should have known that you'd want something for your time, now I'm under the edge of your knife

I'm riding high, so kiss my ass goodbye
I'm just hanging on to the edge of the skies
Yeah just hanging on
Just hanging on

I got too high, too soon
I went too high, too soon
I went too high

How did I know that you'd want something for your time?! Now I'm under the edge of your knife

Yeah riding high, a cloud of white in the sky
We're just hanging on
