Not everybody goes
Not everyone will stay
When the first cold wind blows
Triggers a tempered melee

Not everyone will go
Some will stay with us
But when the first snowflake falls
You'll witness a mass exodus

We're living in the valley of the winter birds

Shutters closed
doors boarded, mind the latches
When the first frost hits
Time to batton down the hatches

While the snowbirds fly
The Winter birds nest
'Til Phil sees his shadow

The cold winds bite and the blizzards come
Ceilings crack, pipes break, electric's gone

The kerosene burns out, as we're buried under the snow
The sun provides no warmth and the water stops its flow
