Justified / Ballad of Blood and Apathy (No Guns/Screams)
I've sat in silence for far too long
At all the pain passing by
I've always said that it wasn't my fight
But was standing by ever right?
I wanna help those in need
I wanna help them be seen
Victim of greed, Greenland is gone
Singing white snow's swan song
For too long and with too many
Wars are fought by the poor for the plenty
We'll march under your towers, day after day
To make sure you hear us say
Are you justified
In taking all that they own?
How many tears must be shed for you to
Just help them along?
I'm tired and worn out of fighting
And as I look it seems nothing is changing
Have I wasted all my life?
What could I've done
Who's to blame for their hunger and dying?
Because it sure isn't their lack of trying
Why must things remain the same
When all it's caused is so much pain
Their money hungry minds murder and mug millions
Making millions
While mothers try to make their children a meal
I haven't wasted my time
Only biding it
Finding out what you truly mean
When you want freedom of trade, not pay, not people
This land is your land
And your streets are mine
So I will take the liberty
Of writing our minds upon your walls
Are you justified
In taking all that they own?
How many tears must be shed for you to
Just leave them alone?
The scenes are unreal
Poor crushed by company zeal
To keep their high brow holders happy
Those in power
Double down and cower
At the prospects of equality
They have ivory towers
By owning broken showers
That they never waste their money to fix
They said, "Rent's due the first
Remember it can be worse
If you were working overseas for me"
So keep your head held high
And keep your eyes on my prize
Because I know your life has its price
Rights don't apply
If your labor's supplied
Out of big brother's reach
And in the end when you win
Now what will you gain?
Just being able to say
That you tricked them to chains?
But if breaking them free
From your corporate regime
Means breaking all the cogs
Of your murder machines
Then I'll rip and I'll tear
And I'll cut down the wire
Of the artificial fences
That your profits require
I'll just be martyr from the slaughter
Of commercial crusade
To put the public at peace
By keeping truth away
Parades and parties
Don't seem to catch your eye
You're even more apathetic
When your peasants die
So I'll put my message in your pipe
So you can just smoke it
And then we'll scream
Are you justified?
In taking all that they own?
How much blood must be shed for you to
Just leave them alone?
The great white kings of the concrete jungle
Build their castles far away from trouble
And you know they sold their souls
To the star spangled sinners above
We'll find the source of your wealth
And give you feeling of what they've been dealt
Are you justified?
In taking all that they own (Are)?
How much blood must be shed for you to
Just leave them alone?
You started a war when you needed more
And found a people able to be torn
Your business is finished and it's time to go
These plans of care are more than show
And it won't take too long for them to
Get their guns
We are justified
In burning all that you own
And if you take what's left of us
Then we'll have nothing left to lose
And as I rise from this wasted ground
And I see burned children all around
Children of God and children of Greed
Innocent souls lost from some poisoned seed
I can't tell if it's tears or if it's blood
On this battlefield of bodies and mud
For those not yet gone with shock in their eyes
I hope by cavalry (Calvary) they're not still alive
And as I draw my final breath
As we lay here equal in death
I hope my message found anyone, anywhere
But I know in truth our screams were less than a prayer
I never meant to hurt anyone
I'm so sorry for what I've done
At all the pain passing by
I've always said that it wasn't my fight
But was standing by ever right?
I wanna help those in need
I wanna help them be seen
