The Void

Open eyes will never see
For self and service can't agree
When standing in the open face
No realization of it's space
Until the day hope is perceived
Or testament of three believed
The open face will stay behind
The eyes of those with darkened minds

At the void's edge is where we dwell together
You and I we know well the endeavor
Without our lights inside to fill
We either live or will be killed
We either live or will be killed

Apparent holiness within
While outer monsters start to grin
They own two fates with one in favor
Though either end they'd gladly savor
The better win leaves unaware
The victim's heart to blankly stare
The other lends potential loss
If victim turns and sees the cost

At the void's edge is where we dwell together
You and I we know well the endeavor
Without our lights inside to fill
We either live or will be killed
We either live or will be killed

And finally, a fate less chilling
Instead of end is new beginning
If awareness of the void persuades
The victim's hands to be displayed
Amidst the vast and unseen harm
And grab ahold the saving arms
Which pull him from the empty gloom
To where the Other can't consume

From there surrender builds defense
And selfless service can commence
Enabled by a holy word
Confronting monsters undeterred
All the while close in step
The entrance of the void is kept
Close at hand till time requires
The feeble flesh to be expired
