The Current

As if with her demise the entire world seemed to come alive just a little more
Her grass is greener than ever and her flowers smile
With the same smile that she smiled with before
Oh sometimes her words seem to carry on the dance of someone else's tongue
Strange but familiar too
And she wouldn't let anything get in her way you know that just as well as I do
The garden door swings open and we all are thinking the exact same thing
The sun crawls out through the clouds in an attempt to rest our weary minds
We linger but we know

And each wave is reaching for the moon

Every wave has an end

We bring out a toast to our beloved friend
And then someone says la familia with his glass still in his hand
