postcard from London

Hey, it's Oscar
I hope you're ok
I'm in London and I think I made it
I made the song I've been trying to make for months
It was always there, in the back of my mind
I just had to wait for the right people

We met Tom and Maddie together, remember?
After their show in Paris
We went drinking wine in this little café next to the venue
Tom kept calling me 'the sexiest man in Paris' in front of you
I thought it was a very cool move from him

When we left, he said
If you go to London, come at my house, we'll make music
I had flashbacks of this February in the city
Me waiting in a studio for artists to come
Which they never did
So I remember thinking it might work this time

And today, the three of us were sitting on a couch
Drinking tea and writing ideas on a piece of paper
On a sunny afternoon in London
I wrote one of my favorite songs

Each of us started by writing down three title ideas
One of mine was 'the song I always forget about'
It's the song you forgot existed
But keeps coming back to you
It's the song you heard before
But can't remember where
It's the song that was written
All this time in my head
And I can't wait for you to hear it

Take care
Oscar
