There once lived a boy
Who thought he could change the world
He travelled land and sea
With songs and words of lure

In an attempt to show us all
He was sent by mother earth
To remind us that what we take

He told us many things
About the wonders of the world
But as it is he came to learn
That time withers all words

That his future would do him harm
Tempted by our ways he was

No signs were seen or heard
Until one day he passed my way
Carrying the weight of the world

He climbed a mountain steep
Where men of old have yearned
There he sat and gazed upon
The scene he once had served

Then a shroud of darkness fell
As he sang to mother earth
He watched the setting sun
Dissolve and leave the world

There once lived a boy
Who thought he could change the world
