Art.

As I walk this museum hall
So much here to see
Frescoes splattered stories hung on every wall
None of them is me

Carve me into a piece of art and if I splinter I'll
Be the better for it yeah
Won't you go against the grain
I need an oil change so I can run

Have a seat, please sit this is the main attraction
It's a sculpture of a boy
Here's his head
Here's his heart
They're divided
See the artist decided, he decided he'd like to accurately
Depict what's going on
With most of human life
It's messy and confusing
Messy and confusing

So won't you paint a portrait
These hands are difficult I know
There's so much going on
And if you took a short trip
To the master painter's studio
You'd never come back again

Sick and tired of emptiness consuming all my dreams
Nothing's as it seems
I'm a liar
Most of the time at least
So much for a masterpiece, yeah

So won't you take my jacket
It's getting chilly out and I'd
Like to walk you to car
And as you hit your mattress
I hope you're thinking of me too

Carve me into a piece of art and if I splinter I'll
Be the better for it yeah
So won't you go against the grain
I need an oil change so I can run
