Gilligan's Island

I remember when Amazon was just a forest
I remember when Apple was only a fruit
Social media was everything you read in the papers
And nightly news was considered absolute

We were we were having so much fun
We were trusting everyone
We thought we were so damn cool
We thought that we made all the rules
Some things changed and so have we
Some remain, just meant to be
We still think we're still so cool
But now we know we don't control the rules

I remember running home to watch the TV
Mary Ann was hot and Gilligan played the fool
Happy days, yes they were and not just for Richie
Maybe we were foolish but we always seemed to know the truth

But really am I just being ignorant
People suffered and lives were lost
For no good reason than acceptable cost
Better or worse, these are our days
