Without a Sound

I looked around and saw headless corpse and then I wondered what its soul is thinking
The soul came down and said without a sound: "so glad I'm finally free from all that Thinking"

I felt around in darkness all around and found a heart that was just barely beating
I put it down it said without a sound: "so glad I'm finally free from all that feeling"

Fell on the ground and listened to the sound of voices cheerfully go past me fleeing
Without a sound and laughter all around
The souls of all of those set free from being

The tombs in the hills cost more than the ones built in tracts of rows and rows and when the dead go back to their homes we pay our bills and watch tv

"We're free-er dead than we are when we're alive"
Said the elderly man in the grocery checkout line
I smiled and paid for the bottle of Patron and told him he should get some of his own And breathe
