Cabin

I want to rent a cabin in the woods
Find myself among the trees and hope they make me good
I want to take this chance to go away
The city's suffocating me and I don't want to stay

I want to walk along the muddied paths
Crunch the leaves beneath my feet and hope that time won't pass
I want to run away from my mistakes
Drown myself in solitude beside a quiet lake

Spend the mornings looking at the sunset
See how small I am in the darkness
And as the sunlight bursts into the clouds
May I learn to live inside the here and now

I want to rent a cabin in the woods
Escape the noisiness of this bustling neighbourhood
I want to go and climb the highest trees
Inhale the pine around me with a quiet gentle breeze

I want to take a train down to the west
Inside those brand new faces maybe there I'll find my rest
I want to be alone for a few days
Allow my head to clear from this blue misty haze

Spend my nights admiring the sunset
Watch the colours change from pink to red
And as my escapade draws to its close
May a light awaken from inside my bones

I want to rent a cabin in the woods
Find myself among the trees and hope they make me good
I want to take this chance to go away
This city's suffocated me and I don't want to stay
