Thorn

When I came to wake everyone had left
I swear a tidal wave crashed into my head

Outside in the light my eyes went blind
Spinnin' round like a county carnival ride
And I've sworn times before I'd stop all this Lord
You know I've fought it
But some nights
I still just want it

Lying on the bed and my body glued
I heard the words you said but my mouth just wouldn't move

Next thing then the ceiling was caving down on me
My face was going numb and my heart started to speed
And I've felt this before but I don't need it anymore
You know I've fought it
But some nights
I still just want it

Now I'm alone feeling low I want to go back home
Crawl into my own bed and rest my aching bones
And I've heard it before every man has his thorn
But I'll admit it
Sometimes
It still feels worth it
