TGFTB2 (Thank God For the Beat 2)

I've always been real
That's part of the deal
Some making art
Some making reels

Don't try to be hard
I say what I feel
I hope that my music can help someone heal
Talking about mils popping some pills

If I make a mil I'll be paying my bills
Buying some wheels some houses and meals
And give it to someone who needs it for real
Everybody wanna be somebody what's your motive?

I don't know if I can beat around the bush I gotta go in
I'm a let 'em know if you don't know your why then where you going?
Who you do it for?
Why you even wake up in the morning?

Can't pay attention these days
Gotta cut up our content just get to plays
Make a one minute song minute they press play
Better tell the whole story put it all on one page

Dumbing it down
Just to keep 'em around
Are we coming up with bars
Or just adding someone's sound?

Are we speaking from the heart
Or creating for the crowd?
What you see is what you get with me
And that's what I'm about

Keep going
I'm a show 'em
I'm a make 'em a believer
All you need is one hit to

Make 'em do the Macarena
Got the fever drop a heater
All my Idols were my teachers
Now I got 'em on my songs

You can check my list of features
All my artists the hardest part in the art of it
Is doing what you do when you do it without acknowledgment
And always staying true in the dark when they don't acknowledge it

I'd rather speak the truth then to make a dollar off politics
And when I make a move my thinking style is anonymous
So I'm not pleasing you or him or her I'm staying honest with
Every single word that's what I prefer

There ain't nothing worse then a verse you already heard
I'm a skip the chorus
Wouldn't be a first
I control my work

Prolly why it works
Tell me why on earth
Lying in a verse
Is relied upon it hurts

Deep inside I'd burst
Rather die of thirst
You and I deserve
Knowledge that can serve

Power in our words
Think I hit a nerve
Messing with the firm
Cruising like I'm Tom

Maverick in the works
Through 'em all a curve
Usher let it burn
Pull 'em out the urn

Put 'em back together
Bring em out the dirt
Now they want more this the encore
Knocking down doors

'Til they pour in the concourse
Fill the whole floor
Oh lord keep me on course
Let me be your sword

Let me be the light
Let me curse the night
Let me go to war
We are not perfect

We need that to surface
I see people hurting
And thinking they're worthless
Cuz they can't compete with these standards we've furbished

And likes that we've purchased
And views from this circus
We choose to let validate progress and purpose
But behind these curtains

The truth is you're worth it
Don't filter your life to get views from a person
Who is just as imperfect as you that's my verdict
And everyone knows what they're talking bout huh?

Sharing these headlines don't know where they're from
Then turn right around and go tell everyone
Without checking the source of the propaganda
Thats how misinformation gets placed in our thoughts

Then we base our opinions off somebody's bluff
Our emotions are formed realities lost
Then we as the people are paying the cost
This cancel cultures raisin vultures

No mistakes or chances offered
We prey on peoples downfalls like ulcers
Gut punch em when there down instead of taking their pulse
And maybe helping em up to get to the root of the problem

We'd rather crucify them throw 'em in a looney asylum
We're only human don't act like you never been at the bottom
Or like you never needed help or took a hand when you got one

And I understand I'm just a man
I don't have all the answers
We don't have to be best friends
But we don't have to be strangers

And we can have each other's backs try to read the disclaimer
On the front of the book of life that says immediate danger
If you don't read this out of love and decency for your neighbor
Then you'll never see the true meaning of life on this paper

Cuz when you cut that hand that feeds you all the nourishment tapers
Same compassion you don't believe in you'll be needing it later
