Northern Shore
A stormy morning on a northern shore
And we listen to the song of the waves
Sea wrack, shells and disease we smell
Her face is burning, she takes farewell
The sea's raging sings a minor scale
We find rotten bags and dented bottles
Torn letterings and crabs in between
And confess ourselves guilty and obscene
She rescues a ladybird and walks away in
Her windblown, flapping, flowered dress
We follow her and leave this place
We are humans, yes, we lost our face
And we listen to the song of the waves
Sea wrack, shells and disease we smell
Her face is burning, she takes farewell
The sea's raging sings a minor scale
We find rotten bags and dented bottles
Torn letterings and crabs in between
And confess ourselves guilty and obscene
She rescues a ladybird and walks away in
Her windblown, flapping, flowered dress
We follow her and leave this place
We are humans, yes, we lost our face
