Mother Nature

I stand and watch the water
Swollen reflection of myself
Aching to make things matter
Aching to make things right

A wicked wind stirs up the trees
It's hard to believe
That the elements have shown us all they've got

So I know it's sometimes crazy
But I'm doing the best that I can
And mother nature's yearning
Will carry me 'cross this land

I swear when I woke this morning
A mountain called my name
As soon as I started climbing
I began to feel at one again

Teeming with an energy
I need to believe
There's a reason that we all have to breathe

So I know it's sometimes crazy
But I'm doing the best that I can
And mother nature's yearning
Will carry me 'cross this land

Still water settle me
And calm me down
Erase this frown
Please show me what I've found

It's nighttime, tend to your quarters
All the creatures seeking warmth
Hoping that things won't shatter
Before they rise to begin again

Teeming with an energy
They need to believe
That there's a reason that they all have to breathe

And I know it's sometimes crazy
But I'm doing the best that I can
And mother nature's yearning
Will carry me 'cross this land
